Scratch and Win

Dear journal,

Today, my friend had been scammed. He was coming to INTI by KTM. The KTM was nearby MidValley. Suddenly, there was a young boy(mostly they look like gangster or bad boy )  tapped her shoulder and called him. After that, he asked my friend to go to his company to get a stock. My friend had followed them to their company and they brought my friend to bank to withdraw RM5000 to pay for the stock. He told my friend that he needs to bring the stock back to the Macdonal around Nilai to meet his(the dealer) friend. Then he brought my friend to a taxi and he paid for the taxi and asked the taxi bring my friend to the MAcdonal nearby Nilai. For some reason, my friend had just realized he had been scammed once he get out from taxi and he called us to help him immediately. When we called back the dealer and his friend, they will give alot of reasons because they won’t met you anymore. At the end, you wont get back your money. After that, I had asked several friends who met this kind of case before, and I realized that what the scammers said always the same. My friends please don’t hang out alone next time because their targets mostly were the person who is alone and if they find you, remember don’t look at their eyes because they might use something to make u feel dizzy. Here is the few common things.

1.       They will tell you that you had won a prize for some lucky draw. After that, they will ask you to go to their company to take the prizes.

2.       They will ask you to pay some deposit for the prizes.(Mostly you will just follow what they say because you will be dizzy)

3.       At the very beginning, they will ask you indirectly about the amount in your bank account, they will take as much as they can after they know.

4.       They will say they are some “big” company that nearby the area. For my friend case, they said they are from Pavillion,Midvalley and more. Mostly it will be the company that you had known.

5.       They will say they are doing promotion for their “big” company.

6.       They will ask where you want to go (cause they will sent you to the place after they scammed you)

From my friends, I had arrange the way the scammed

Step 1:

Mostly they will ask you to have a look for their promotion and they will show you the promotion from newspaper or a broacher.

 Example, if you met them around MidValley, they will say they are doing promotion for TimeSquare. Then they will tell you about the prizes. “JadeBed” was their “product” and it will be your “prize”.

Step2

You won a prize! They will ask you to open a sticker and you won a “prize”. (If you saw your friend won this prize, please call each other name because it will help your friends to wake up from the trick they had used previously).

Step3
They will thank you because they will say they are able to get commission for your prize as well. At the same time, their friends will come along also and they will congratulate you. They will continue acting with some tricks such as “ Hey , treat me a meal after you get your commission”

Step4

They will tell you the prize is not with them and they will bring you to their “office” to get the prize. Once you reached, they will ask you to draw again the “prize”. Mostly, you will get a “jadebed” .After you get your “prize”, they will started to do their “business”, they will ask you to pay for the government tax and more. At the same time, they will try to ask you indirectly about your bank account, at the end they will bring you to bank and get your money. After that, they will send you to a destination along with your “prize”. Other than that, they will tell you to go to the destination so there will be one buyer to buy your “prize”. But don’t waste your time and wait because you already get scammed.

For my personal suggestion, there are few ways to avoid this happen,

1.       Do NOT look at their eyes

2.       Do NOT entertain the people who are doing promotion around shopping mall especially when they say you won a prize.

3.       Try not to follow them to their office.

4.       Don’t ever go with them!

5.       Never tell them about amount of your bank!!! Never!!!

6.       Try don’t bring your saving account card along with you.(Mostly they will say you need to have at least some money to get different kind of prizes) Example, 1k for blablabla pakage, 2k for blablabla pakage. Then they will ask again how much you have)

7.       Last one, don’t always think you wont get in this trouble because you might be the victim oneday. ( My friend is a thrifty person but he still get scammed. We believed they use some smoke or trick to make you feel dizzy)

REMEMBER DON’T BELIEVE WHEN SOMEONE SAY YOU WON A PRIZE. NEVER NEVER NEVER!
